Research Project and Interests:

My research project focuses on developing novel delivery vectors for gene therapy to improve the treatment of highly refractory cancers like melanoma. Two of the major limitations of nucleic acid-based therapeutics is their low endosomal escape efficiency and poor targetability in vivo. We plan to address these limitations by developing novel polymeric vectors that improve the cytosolic delivery of nucleotides to cancer cells. Other projects involve the development of therapeutic cancer vaccines based on bacterial lipid nanoparticles and magnetic-guided delivery of antisense oligonucleotides. Overall, my research bridges the biological and physical sciences with the purpose of building novel therapeutic technologies in oncoimmunology.
